LCS Group Chairman Luis "Chavit" Singson, a leading Philippine politician and entrepreneur, visited the Born2Global Center on September 2, 2021. They held a meeting on revitalizing startup exchanges between the two countries.
The Born2Global Center and LCS Group organized the meeting to create a successful Korea-Philippine startup ecosystem. Moreover, they strengthen the support for innovative technological companies to expand to the local market. Luis "Chavit" Singson, chairman of LCS Group, a leading Filipino politician and entrepreneur, visited the center that day to explore strategies on business promotions between Korea and the Philippines and prospective companies for future cooperation.
The Born2Global Center and LCS Group discussed about establishing a potential startup joint venture to participate in the LCS Group's business. In particular, he expressed interest in fintech-related companies.
Kim Jong-gap, chief executive director of the Born2Global Center, said, "We expect this meeting to serve as a gateway to active startup exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and we hope various companies will cooperate to achieve results in the joint venture cooperation project promoted by the center."
The Philippine LCS Group holds about ten affiliates operating in mining, transportation, defense industry, distribution, and entertainment businesses, and real estate development, its flagship business. Construction and mining affiliates secure 90% of Philippine scrap metal mines. Additionally, transportation affiliates occupy the No. 1 market share in the Philippine bus industry.
