In collaboration with Seoul National University’s Global R&DB Center, Born2Global Centre successfully hosted the “Global Collaborative R&DB in Deep-tech for the New Economic Paradigm” session as part of the Green Smart Development and Vision (GSDV) conference held on June 24, the third day of the program. Established in 2011, this gathering of international leaders, innovators, policymakers, and scholars facilitates discussions of global transformation within 3 core streams: green, digitalization, and sustainability.

The session on the future of globalization began with congratulatory remarks from His Excellency Alfredo Bascou, the Ambassador of Argentine Republic to Korea and Irene Arias Hofman, the Chief Executive Director of IDB Lab. The session was highlighted by pitch presentations from four select startups, moderated by Sokjin Chang, Born2Global Centre’s Director of International Cooperation, followed by Born2Global Centre’s Chief Executive Director, Jong Kap Kim, who led a panel discussion amongst top international VCs.

The four global startups that presented their innovative solutions were Avacargo from Argentina, Energy X from Korea, Proximity from Peru, and ULikeKorea from Korea, and the renowned international VC panel consisted of Ventus Capital, igniteXL Ventures, Main Sequence Ventures, KKFund, and QUAD Ventures - all of whom have contributed their unique insights on the global ecosystem.

Under this year’s GSDV theme 'The Great Transformation', the fully-digital, pre-recorded conference broadcasted to approximately 1,000 affiliates and showcased ICT-related domestic and multinational companies that have been working with Seoul National University alongside current students and alumni abroad.

An international project was proposed to solve social and cultural problems based on sustainable, eco-friendly innovations that addressed climate change through business ecosystem innovation, smart city construction, and ICT technology, which are the fundamental frameworks behind the new economic growth phase after COVID-19.
