The K-ICT Born2Global Centre (Born2Global),

a major Korean government agency under the Ministry of Science,

ICT and Future Planning (MSIP),

in Asia, North America, and Europe every year since 1996.

From among 1,000 companies in 40 countries around the world,

the 2016 Red Herring Global Top 100 Technology Venture Company award was granted to startups

who have introduced the most innovative technologies and business models this year.

Google, Alibaba, Baidu, Xiaomi, and Kakao are some notable recipients of the award.

The final winners are selected through qualitative and quantitative analyses

of technological innovation, financial performance, growth potential, executive capabilities,

not only as a real-time communication tool but a knowledge base tool as well.

Moreover, Slack users can use the roundee.io video conferencing service directly

from a web browser without installing any additional software.

Linearhub CEO Kim Sunghyuk said,

"I started this business based on the belief that it will create value

for users by allowing them to share, store, and search for information through video conferencing.

We feel that this award is an acknowledgment of our efforts to meet the high demand of our customers

and continuously improve our product in order to ensure our competitiveness

in the video conferencing market over the past year since our establishment."

Alex Vieux, editor-in-chief of Red Herring, said, "New technology is bringing disruptive innovation.

Through innovation, vast amounts of data and intellectual property are now accessible to entrepreneurs today,

K-ICT Born2Global Centre (Born2Global),

a major Korean government agency under the Ministry of Science,

ICT and Future Planning (MSIP), announced on August 29 that VisualCamp,

known for its eye tracking technology with Virtual Reality used for mobile phones has been selected

in 2016 Red Herring's Top 100 most promising startups in Asia.

Since 1995, Red Herring, a global media company, has selected the most promising startups

in the field of information technology worldwide.

The result has qualified VisualCamp to take part in the 2016 Red Herring Asia held in Manila,

Philippines from September 12 to 14 with the support of Born2Global.

This year, Althea Inc., BrilliantTS, Healcerion Co. and Born2Global's Member Company

Linearhub have also been selected as themost exciting Korean companies.

There are 20 major criteria in selecting the top startups.

They include the candidate company's addressable market size, its IP and patents,

its financing proof of concept, trailing revenues and management's expertise.

In the past, Alibaba, Baidu, InMobi, Rakuten, Snapdeal and Xioami were selected for the Top 100 Asia Award.

Korean companies, such as KaKao and Born2Global Member Company SMATOOS,

Ideabove, KNOWCK, Spika, have been selected as finalists for Red Herring's Top 100 Asia Award.

"VisualCamp shows great promise and therefore deserves to be among the finalist companies.

The wealth of talent and achievements displayed by Red Herring Asia finalists

is an excellent predictor for the new wave of revolutionary technology."

said Alec Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring.

The core technology of VisualCamp is the combination of an eye tracking technology

with Virtual Reality Head Mount Displays (VR HMD) used for mobile phones.

That is, an eye tracking technology is applied to wireless VR HMD. VisualCamp is

the only company in the world to own such a technology that could be utilized on mobiles.

Its wider application is another advantage; it could be adapted to VR platforms

as a crucial technology for analyzing the consumer behavior in the space of VR or

the effectiveness of advertising.

"It is an honor to be recognized as one of the top companies that drive innovation

across the globe and we will grow into an unrivaled company that owns eye tracking solutions

by developing innovative technologies." said Yun-chan Seok, VisualCamp CEO.

VisualCamp has been incubated by Born2Global since March 2016 at the Startup Campus.

Born2Global, each year, selects over 100 startups with high potential for entering the global market.

Born2Global provides services such as professional consulting in law, patents, accounting,

marketing, investment and business development. Born2Global also gives training service

to startups by hosting conferences, seminars and meetups. Especially, over 60 startups selected

to reside in the business space at the Startup Campus. Born2Global has brought investment of

over US$173.6 million for 83 startups and Born2Global's experts have provided 5,117 consulting services,

resulting in 369 overseas patent applications, 204 overseas business contracts and alliances

with 26 overseas incorporations since the establishment of Born2Global in 2013.

"Born2Global's Member Companies are making a name for themselves, resulting in

more outstanding results than before," said Jong Kap Kim, Chief Executive Director of Born2Global.

Kim added, "VisualCamp holds unequaled technological prowess which has been nurtured to keep up with

the global VR trend. It is expected to attract investment from China and the US,

as well as to form partnerships with firms in those countries."
